My Debt Recovery celebrates 10th anniversary

On Thursday 1st August, My Debt Recovery celebrated their 10th anniversary.

Following over 20 years in commercial banking, Sean Husband, director of My Debt Recovery, decided he wanted to try something different. During Sean’s time as a senior commercial manager for a well-known bank, it became apparent that countless businesses were struggling because they couldn’t manage their cash flow. According to the Office of National Statistics, cash flow is responsible for up to 90% of business failures.

With a desire to provide greater support to these businesses, Sean began My Debt Recovery in August 2009. Sean also recognised that the perception of debt collection agencies wasn’t positive and therefore, wanted to create a company that was professional and could adapt to the needs of each client and the type of debt.

Starting off their journey as a team of one working from a home office, My Debt Recovery has grown to become a team of 5 and has expanded into new offices. Since its inception, the company has recovered funds for over 1,000 clients, both in the UK and worldwide. Due to their professionalism and how they handle cases, My Debt Recovery now have a number of clients who were originally debtors that they collected monies from. Their work covers all business sectors and they work on behalf of solicitors, accountants, surgeons, funeral directors and many other business owners. 

In 2014, the My Invoice Group was formed and now combines My Debt Recovery, My Invoice Finance and My Insolvency. The business has gone from strength to strength over the last few years and has evolved to undertaking more complex work within the insolvency industry. In recent months, My Debt Recovery has been chosen to be the exclusive front-end debt collection agency for Escalate, a no cost litigation service. 

Commenting on My Debt Recovery’s milestone, Sean remarked:

“Over the last 10 years, we have built a strong reputation for being professional, achieving results and approaching debtors with an attitude of understanding. Dealing with debtors can be very stressful for clients, not to mention the time it can take to recover the debt. With that in mind, I wanted to build a business that would take the stress away from business owners and allow them to refocus their attention back on what they do best, growing their business. 

I’m proud of what we have achieved over the last 10 years and delighted with our new partnership with Escalate. I’m looking forward to continuing to expand the team and bringing in more experience from within the industry, allowing us to support more clients in recovering the monies they are owed.
